Getting Started - Introduction

In order to begin training at AnaerobicInc, you must either come in for a quick consultation/assessment (for people with CrossFit experience or feel they are proficient in the required movements) or engage in either of the two programs below. 1- On-Ramp Foundations Program

Our "On-Ramp" program is our beginner’s class and is specifically designed to prepare active, healthy individuals who are new to the CrossFit movements for success in the group workouts.  At the end of this program, you will have the basic knowledge and mechanics to empower you to excel well beyond your expectations. It is important to take the time to build a good foundation as it is crucial to our program.  You can not go wrong by taking time to educate your mind and body in this patient, fun, yet challenging program.  

In this class we will expose new athletes to our movement curriculum in a group format. Movement techniques will be drilled as well as a progressive introduction to the intensity levels that are present in our group classes.  After each movement is covered, there will be an appropriate Workout of the Day (WOD).  

This is a 2 week program that will begin on the 1st of the month and again on the 15th, classes will be offered Mon thru Fri at 9:30 am and Mon Wed Fri at 5:30pm.  It is mandatory that you attend 3 times a week at least for duration of the 15 days, in order to ramp up quickly and efficiently learn all of the movements.  Mon Wed Fri will be working 3-4 movements and W TH F will be reviewing and learning a different set of 3-4 movements.

At the end of the On Ramp session we will review and test all of the movements.  If we feel that you are not ready we will have you take the On Ramp for the remainder of the month. This should give everyone enough options in order to make the commitment.  If these times do not work, the alternative program below is a semi private, schedule on your own time format. 

2- Personal Training 6-session Introduction package (Highly Recommended)

If you are unsure as to whether you are a good candidate for beginning in a class setting or the "On Ramp" program does not fit your schedule, we also offer a 6-session introduction personal training package. We require a minimum of 2 sessions per week for 3 weeks. In these sessions you will work with your trainer in a small group (max of 4) or privately, to build your confidence with the base CrossFit movements, preparing you for our group classes.

The purpose of this program is to help us serve you better by getting to know your goals and expectations, fitness level, and experience. It is to provide you the fundamentals and foundation in which to build your potential upon. 

3- Consultation/Assessment (Core Competency Test)

We want to ensure that you absolutely know what you are getting into. If you feel the other two programs listed above are too remedial and you are confident in your fitness and ability, we provide an option for you to "Test" out of the "On-Ramp" or the 6-session package.  This can be done with a complimentary assessment session. They are scheduled by appointment only and should take about 30-45 minutes. 

At your assessment, you will be required to perform the following 8 movements proficiently:  Back Squat, Front Squat, Overhead Squat, Deadlift, Shoulder Press, Push Press, Push Jerk and Power Clean.  After that, you will have 12 minutes to complete "Jackie" which is Row 1000m, 50 Thrusters (45lb Barbell) and 30 Pullups.  Pullups may be assisted with medium to light bands. 

 

4- Anaerobic Bootcamp

If you want to get your feet wet before you start CrossFit or are just seeking major results, you can start out with Anaerobic Bootcamp.  You will not be required to take ON Ramp in order to come to bootcamp classes.  Anaerobic Bootcamp is a nontraditional way to get in shape and increase overall health.  This is no ordinary Bootcamp it is scalable for all levels of fitness from elite athlete to the workout novice.  It incorporates the CrossFit method and some of the excercises at a lower weight as well as, sports and conditioning drills, speed/ agility work, and endurance activities.  It will empower you to do things you never thought possible while keeping within your comfort level and having fun.  Bootcamp is offered Tuesday, Thursday  at 6:30am and 9:30 am as well as Saturday at 9:30.  More classes to be added this Fall.
