Your kids eat what you eat. Ask yourself this, “Is there or isn’t there a choice?”

What if your kid asks for Fruit Loops? If you don’t have Fruit Loops in the house, the answer is pretty simple. To get your kids to follow your choice of eating, simply didn’t offer the alternatives. Instead of rice, serve fresh vegetables. While you will probably encounter some resistance in the beginning, eventually kids will eat what is in front of them. When the kids complain, offer to make them a vegetable of their choice. When the kids crave rice or mashed potatoes, make the cauliflower or squash versions. They’ll get used to it if it’s all you’re offering. Again, they eat what you eat.

Moderation
Keeping all this in mind, no one wants their kid to have long term eating issues. Is it ok to give your kid a PB&J for lunch? Of course… but make it the exception, not the rule.
