Jeff ScottManager | Head Coach
Hometown: South Bay, California Jeff has been CrossFitting since March of 2009 and has been a personal trainer since 2003. His specialty is Strongman and he dabbles in Olympic Weightlifting. “I’m a CrossFit and Fat Loss Fanatic and I love sharing my knowledge with others. I first got started doing CrossFit at CrossFit LA and my very first CrossFit workout was called the ‘Baseline’ which was a 500 meter row, 40 squats, 30 situps, 20 pushups, 10 pullups and it demolished me! I have been a CrossFit Fanatic ever since that workout 3 1/2 years ago and have never done a chest and triceps workout since! I just moved down to Orange County a year ago but was coaching at CrossFit Newport Beach about 2 years.” When he’s not CrossFitting, Jeff likes to spend time training Jiu-Jitsu & Muay Thai Kickboxing, reading books, playing music and traveling. He hates cats but loves dogs and he admits he can be kind of a goofball at times. “In all seriousness I am always looking forward to making new friends and helping my clients achieve all the health and fitness goals they are after! LETS DO THIS!”

Chris GeorgoulisCoach | Programmer
Hometown: Orange County, CA Chris has an extensive fitness background. He specializes in strength training, mobility, martial arts, core strength and conditioning, yoga, nutrition and meal planning, sports conditioning, powerlifting, and body building with a level 1 Crossfit certification. He has been a personal trainer for eight years and has been developing his physical fitness skills for over ten years. Fitness is his passion! Studying Japanese Ninpo and Samurai Ju Jutsu for two years, he began to seek a different means of conditioning. Something that would work on all ten general physical skills and train him to be an even better martial artist and athlete. After training vigorous workout routines lasting 2-3 hours a day, he came across an article on CrossFit core strength and conditioning. Extremely interested he immediately tried CrossFit at a nearby gym. His first workout was 5 rounds for time of 15 pull ups, 3 -185 lbs. squat cleans and 9 box jumps. After the first round he knew this was what he had been searching for! In December of 2011 he received his level 1 trainer certification. Shortly after, he started working for CrossFit Orange County, Orange Counties first and longest standing CrossFit box. Currently he is studying kinesiology and several Crossfit specialty courses. CrossFit has changed Chris’s life by challenging him physically and mentally helping him become a far better athlete and coach then he ever imagined. Chris’s deepest desire is to help others reach their goals in both Crossfit and life. He believes that CrossFit is not only physically and mentally challenging, but it teaches us how to overcome obstacles in life and at the box. CrossFit runs parallel to life! -”When impossible challenges are thrown at you, you simply ignore the voice in your head and dive head first into the impossible, only to discover that YOU are impossible to challenge!”

Alexa DickersonCoach | Endurance Specialist
Hometown: Lake Forest, California Alexa is a runner at heart and has always focused on staying in tip top shape. “Before I started doing Crossfit, I thought that I was in really good shape,” She says, “I had competed in several marathons and ultra marathons. However, I realized quickly how imbalanced my training was. I was really only conditioned to run and that was about it. My strength was lacking and the short, high intensity met-con workouts would destroy me. Crossfit was definitely a challenge when I first started (and still is!), but I caught onto the movements fairly quickly and fell in love with it immediately.” Alexa also focuses a lot on her diet. “I try and stick to a paleo diet as much as I can. It has taken me a few months to get all the ‘bad’ carbs out of my diet, but I realize I do feel much better without them. I don’t follow the Zone ‘block’ system, but instead make sure I have a balanced amount of protein, carbs and fat in each meal. I eat a ton of fish, chicken, eggs, nuts, nut butters, avocado, veggies and fruit. I do like to cheat with some red wine every once in a while.”

Desirée (Dez) NguyenCoach
Hometown: Lake Forest, CA Since being introduced to high school sports her freshman year, Des has been dedicated to living and partaking in a healthier and fitter lifestyle. She is a firm believer in holistic nutrition, and that ‘you are what you eat’. “In order to fuel your body and mind to work the way that you want it to,” She points out, “you need to fuel it with balanced nutrition and fitness.” Des believes the way your body and mind feel depend on what you put into it, and the more active you are, the better your whole health will be. She is convinced that this simple rule can lead to great results as long an individual is dedicated to the program. She wants her clients to know that she is motivated and available to help anyone begin their own personal journey of leading a healthier life. Des was first introduced to CrossFit in 2011while visiting her family in Norway. She was there to visit and catch up, oblivious to the fact that it would shape what she would eventually being doing to this day. Her cousin knew she had a propensity for active hobbies, and invited her to check out his best friend’s fitness facility. “I’ll never forget my first WOD,” She remembers, “…which was the ‘Filthy Fifty.’ I had never been so annihilated mentally and physically in one workout, even from the workouts that I had experienced in soccer and basketball growing up. Even though my body and mind were absolutely exhausted, there was something about that WOD that just felt extremely right, and something that I had never experienced in my own workouts.” With each raw struggle and new movement she was introduced to, her mind and body fell in love with the sport of CrossFit. She was supposed to stay only a week in Norway, but that week quickly turned into a month. It wasn’t until she learned just how widespread CrossFit was – especially back home in Orange County – that she came home to pursue her new fixation. Since that clash of fate, she hasn’t looked back. Along with her own training, Des was thrilled when she introduced to a new aspect of her training: coaching. She was excited to to reform her own movements and workouts, but also relay the message to those who are seeking a new, healthier, fitter lifestyle. “Seeing my athletes reach their goals, and being able to witness first hand their transformations makes me see what a difference I can be in their lives as well, and not only in mine.” She wraps up, “It makes me love what I do, and I can honestly say that the cliché of being happy to come into work every day has never been so true. The camaraderie that I see never seizes to amaze me, and the CrossFit community is composed of a great combination of hard working and passionate people. We are our own breed and it’s contagious!”

Kevin CastilloCoach
Hometown: Mission Viejo, California Growing up, I was always athletic and competitive, whether it be with teammates or my siblings. I started CrossFit after high school football in 2008, when my brother came home from college and told me we should work out together. He was doing this style of training with some friends at school and told me the workout. I thought, “How hard could it be? It only had two different movements and a run!” Little did I know that was my awaking to such a fast, effective, approach to fitness. The workout left me crushed, but eager to try again and beat him. Following my embarrassing performance, I was hooked. It was something so new and varied that it had me wanting to do better. After a few months on, my performance improved dramatically and so did my outlook on fitness. After a year and a half at CrossFit Anaerobic, I feel better than ever. I’m stronger and faster than I ever was. I have a better understanding of my health, also a new outlook on Fitness and how it changed my life. Now after much procrastination, I completed my CrossFit Level 1 certification so I can help others reach their physical and mental goals too.

Ian LauthMarketing Director | Coach
Hometown: Seattle, Washington Ian has always been dedicated to athletics and staying fit. While attending the University of Washington, he found himself going to the gym regularly to “Frat Lift” as he humorously calls it – essentially sticking to Back & Bi’s, Chest & Tri’s, and doing “loads of crunches.” “I was so top-heavy,” Ian recalls, “I was only working out specific parts of my upper body and I neglected my legs and core almost entirely.” While he admits it was primarily to look good for the ladies with his shirt off, he knew in his gut he was forsaking many aspects of his overall fitness. “I didn’t really have any idea what I was doing in the gym… I would just watch other people and try out the workouts they were doing without worrying whether it was proper form or not. I sort of just pieced my workouts together from stuff I heard here and there.” “When I found CrossFit, it completely opened my eyes,” Ian remembers, “I realized that everything I’d been doing in the gym up until that point not only lacked efficiency, but it didn’t contribute to my overall health and fitness. Here was a place that provided the kind of programming, camaraderie and motivation I needed to get in the kind of shape I wanted. All I had to do was get my butt through the door and the rest was taken care of.” Asked whether or not he looks better now with his shirt off than he did in college, Ian laughs, “That’s for the ladies to decide.”

Alaina EimanMarketing | Coach
Hometown: Mission Viejo, CA Alaina never thought walking through Anaerobic’s doors would change her life as much as it did. “I was expecting a good workout but I was completely unprepared for the beating I experienced,” Alaina explains. “Funny thing was, I loved it.” Alaina has been CrossFitting since early 2012. Although she thought she was in pretty good shape because of her lifelong background in competitive swimming and recent commitment to running 5ks, 10ks & marathons, she was thrilled and surprised by the complete body transformation she experienced over the few months after starting CrossFit. “That’s what CrossFit is,” Alaina says, “it takes the walls you put up around yourself and it breaks them down. It makes the impossible, possible. Before CrossFit I was always a cardio buff, swimming 6k yards a day then running for hours on the weekend, so needless to say I thought lifting weights was for frat boys (like Coach Ian… haha).” Even though she’s not swimming or running nearly as much, her times in the pool and on the road have improved drastically. “I’m so thankful that I was introduced to CrossFit when I was. It’s completely changed the way I view what living a healthy lifestyle really is.” Alaina also likes to explain CrossFit from a holistic point of view, “As much as I love CrossFit for the way it makes me feel, one of the biggest reasons I’m so passionate about it is because of the people that come along with it. I am so thankful to be a part of such an awesome community of people.”
